Students in Ms. Rohde’s classroom are exploring an array of early writing and reading skills with the help of their teacher. From developing fine-motor skills and experimenting with letters and sounds to putting their ideas down on paper, these young learners are building the foundations for future literacy success.
Ms. Rohde was excited to put her newly gained LETRS knowledge into action, using evidence-based literacy practices to support her students as they develop early language, phonological awareness, print knowledge, and writing skills.
LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) is professional learning designed to deepen teachers’ understanding of how children learn to read and how educators can provide effective, research-based literacy instruction. This knowledge is helping Ms. Rohde intentionally connect classroom experiences to the science of reading and meet students where they are in their literacy development.
The result? Students who are excited to write, eager to share their ideas, and beginning to see themselves as authors!

Our Adams students got an inside look at the science behind the forecast! 🌦️🌪️
Mrs. Courtney’s classroom recently welcomed a special guest, WNEM Meteorologist Chris Easlick, who stopped by to talk all things weather. Students learned how weather connects to the water cycle, got a behind-the-scenes look at how meteorologists forecast and share the weather on TV, and even participated in a few hands-on science experiments.
From creating a tornado in a bottle 🌪️ to making a cloud in a bottle ☁️, it was a great day of curiosity, science, and learning at Adams!

Keeping our youngest learners healthy and ready for school is a team effort!
The Saginaw County Health Department will be hosting Preschool Immunization Clinics at Jerome Preschool this summer to help families prepare for the upcoming school year. Children can receive all vaccines required for school entry onsite, and families seeking immunization waivers can also receive the required waiver education during the clinic.

⏰ 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
The clinic is available for privately insured, Medicaid-enrolled, uninsured, and underinsured preschool-aged children. Additional services will also include full child and adult vaccine services and TB testing.

Claytor preschool children enjoyed a special visit to a kindergarten classroom at Arthur Eddy Academy, where they explored the classroom environment, met students and teachers, and got a fun preview of kindergarten learning activities.
