Students in Ms. Rimmer’s classroom at Jerome STEM Preschool had a great time working together on a group art project!

Students shared materials, talked with their friends, made decisions about their artwork, and worked together to create something as a group. This hands on experience gave them a chance to practice communication, cooperation, turn taking, and social emotional skills while expressing their creativity.

So much learning can happen when children are given the opportunity to create, explore, and play together!

Our students and teaching staff at Jerome STEM Preschool would like to give a special shout-out to St. John’s Episcopal Church of Midland for their generous donation of an outdoor CORE board!

This new communication tool gives our students another way to express themselves, communicate their needs and ideas, and connect with those around them. More importantly, it helps us continue building an inclusive environment where every child has a voice and every child can be heard.

We are incredibly grateful to St. John’s Episcopal Church for supporting our students and helping us create a more inclusive and connected learning environment at Jerome.

Thank you for helping us make a difference for our students!

Our preschool students at the Saginaw Career Complex had a magnetic time exploring the wonders of science! Students learned about magnets, discovered which objects are magnetic and which are not, and then put their new knowledge to the test! Armed with their very own magnets, they explored their classroom to see what they could find. Hands-on activities like these encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while making learning fun!

Way to go, little scientists! 🔬🧲

Is that another student checking out a book from the Jerome STEM Preschool lending library?!

We love seeing our students excited to choose a book and bring that love of reading home. Early literacy development begins long before children can read independently. When young children hear stories, look at books, and talk about pictures and characters, they are building important vocabulary and language skills that support future reading success.

One book at a time, we’re building lifelong readers!

Corey Nichols, Principal of Jerome STEM Preschool, would like to give a shout-out to the students in Ms. Hewitt’s classroom for demonstrating a mathematics lesson focused on addition!

Students used their fingers to write numbers and solve basic addition problems in Play-Doh, turning a traditional math lesson into a hands-on learning experience.

What a great way to capture the imaginations of our youngest learners while making mathematics fun, engaging, and meaningful!

It's never too early to introduce reading skills to children!

Just look at these Early Head Start students visiting Jerome STEM Preschool's lending library. Thanks to a generous donation of books, our students have the opportunity to extend the literacy instruction happening at school into their homes, giving families another way to learn and grow together.

And here's a great reason to make reading part of your everyday routine: the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends reading together beginning at birth, noting that shared reading helps build the foundation for language, literacy, cognitive, and social-emotional development.

A book may seem like a simple thing, but the conversations, connections, and learning that happen around it can have a lasting impact.

Corey Nichols, Principal of Jerome STEM Preschool, would like to nominate Joyce Thomas for an Orange Frog shout-out.

Joyce is always eager to welcome every family to school each morning. Her passion for supporting families as they grow and thrive is truly commendable. If ever there is a family in need, Joyce is quick to step in, offer support, and provide help wherever possible.

Joyce, thank you for the compassion, care, and dedication you bring to our families each day. Thank you for making such a significant impact on our campus and for being someone our families can count on.

Parents play a huge role in shaping what happens at school. Just ask the wonderful Family Service Advocates at Jerome STEM Preschool!

Last Thursday, their leadership at Parent Club sparked a vibrant conversation with families about setting goals for the 2026–27 school year. It was a great opportunity for families and staff to come together, share ideas, and talk about how we can continue working together to support the best outcomes for our students and community.

The staff and families at Jerome would like to thank Joyce Thomas, Stacie Harrison, and Matthew Hirschenberger for hosting such a wonderful event and creating a welcoming space for our families to connect and be involved.

It’s never too late to join the fun happening at Jerome STEM Preschool! For information about enrollment, call 989.272.0900 to schedule a tour.
